HARVEY UPDATE | Thursday
We just want to share with you that right now HNW is engaging the community in the following areas.
We are taking donations and distributing those donations to families in need, other churches, and to shelters around Houston. We continue to update our Facebook page with a current list of donation needs. So if you'd like to see today's list, please check out the HNW Facebook page.
We are "mudding out" houses - which simply means cleaning out homes. So far we've sent 300 volunteers into 10 different homes. This doesn't seem like a lot of homes but it takes 10-15 adults about two days to clean out a flooded home. We still have about 30 homes we want to get to. This is a service we're providing for free and we need man power to do it. The more help we have the more homes we can reach.
We're also taking cash donations. If you'd like to give, to welovehou.com and use the link there to give financially. The funds that we raise will go to families who do not have flood insurance.
As most of you know, our administration, kids, and 249 buildings took on about two feet of water. Today we started the process of cleaning out those buildings. It's a cumbersome process and entails a lot. Guess what....all of this takes man power, so if you'd like to help with this process, we'd love your help.
